Charles II (1660-1685), "Company of Royal Adventurers Trading into Africa", 'Elephant' Guinea, 1664, third laureate head right, Elephant below, rev. crowned shields cruciform, emblem-adorned sceptres in angles, six strings to harp, interlocking cypher at centre, edge straight milled, 8.09g, 6h (MCE 57; Farey 35 [ER]; EGC 233 [R3] - Bull G/2; Spink 3343), heavily circulated, flecked and nailmarked in brighter but residually lustrous fields, strictly fair, but extremely rare, with fewer than half-a-dozen examples documented on CoinArchives
