Iron Age Gaul and Germania, Uncertain Tribe (3rd Century BC), 'Brackenheim' Type, AV Quarter-Stater, in imitation of Philip II of Macedon, laureate head of Apollo right, rev. charioteer driving biga right, holding reins in his left hand and kentron in his right, corn-ear below horses, legend devolved into two lines of pearls in exergue, 2.13g [32.87grns], 10h (cf. Allen, SNR 53 (1974), pl. 8, 14-15; cf. DT 3022; cf. LT 4832 [Stater]; Sills 128-129), of waterworn appearance, otherwise largely centred on a buttery gold flan, near very fine, a handsome example of this extremely rare early imitative style
