William and Mary (1688-1694), 'Royal African Company', Elephant and Castle, Half-Guinea, 1692, conjoined laureate busts right, E&C below, rev. crowned shield, edge obliquely milled, 4.10g 63.4grns], 6h (Murdoch II, 735; King -; Stratos 31; MCE 166; Schneider II, 477; EGC 388 [R2]; Spink 3431), edges smoothed where removed from mount with resultant subtle crimping and brightness to flan, otherwise residually lustrous, struck details bolder than very fine, very seldom encountered in public commerce and difficult in any grade being far scarcer than references suggest
