Guernsey Identity Card, No. 21707, issued to 'Abraham John Blondel', with his photograph stapled to the card and German overstamps, very fine, together with a translation of a letter, dated 27 March 1945, confirming the searching and requisition of stores from him (2)

Purchased February 1998.

Abram John Blondel was born on Guernsey on 29 May 1893. During the Second World War he lived at Neuve Maison, St Saviours and his premises were searched by the Feldgendarmerie in March 1945. Stocks of carrots and parsnips were located, of which some 600kg were 'taken over' by the Verpflegungsausgabestelle.
