Great Britain: Frederick Gorringe Ltd., pair of certificates, £1 ordinary shares, #1323, and £1 preference shares, #1212, both 19[04], ornate border, blue and red respectively. Frederick Gorringe established his drapery business in 1858 in Buckingham Palace Road. Later replaced by a large new building which was patronised by many of the staff from Queen Victorias household. This company formed in 1903. Store closed in 1968. The company name was changed to Hillsteam Limited. The Gorringe name carried on in a new store in Queensway, West London. Both VF (2).
