Army L.S. & G.C., E.VII.R. (25739 L. Cpl F. G. Hodgson. R.E.), slight edge bruise, otherwise very fine

Frederick George Hodgson was born at Athlone, Ireland in June 1876. Enlisting on 26 May 1891 with the rank of Boy he was posted as a Sapper on 26 June 1894 after a short period of service in Bermuda. Later seeing service in Hong Kong from 7 December 1903-29 January 1907. Returning to Britain he was appointed Lance-Corporal with the 22nd Field Company before transferring to the 28th Field Company in Malta on 5 January 1910. Promoted Corporal he was discharged at Gosport on 16 October 1912.
