Army L.S. & G.C., V.R. (6880. Sgt Maj. H. Hodgson, Rl Engineers), good very fine

Henry Hodgson was born at Tredgar, Monmouth on 2 September 1858. Enlisting on 2 September 1858 he was appointed Corporal 1 February 1859. Posted to Corfu on 21 May 1859 Hodgson was stationed her for the next five years before being transferred to Gibraltar on 10 June 1864. Returning to Britain on 15 January 1868 he was promoted Sergeant on 24 February 1870 and further advanced Sergeant-Major on 11 October 1870. Hodgson was discharged on 7 September 1886.
