Herbert John Baldwin was born on 17 April 1921 at Loddon, Norfolk and was a farm worker upon joining the Royal Air Force on 15 March 1939. He saw active service during the Second World War and was discharged on 16 June 1946. Baldwin re-joined on 3 July 1946 (No. 637568) and qualified as a Gunner Instructor, being discharged on 14 March 1952. Baldwin was married at Grantham in October 1946. His wife died in 1955 whilst they were living at 15 Manners Street and Baldwin and died on 6 May 1998; sold together with his original Certificate of Service.
