Frederick Wells was born on 23 February 1879 at Stoughton, Sussex. He was a Brickmaker prior to enlistment on 14 February 1898 and served aboard Attentive for the whole of his Great War. Shore Pensioned in March 1920, Wells joined the Royal Fleet Reserve.
