Thomas Churchward was born on 27 May 1890, the son of Thomas and Sarah Churchward, of "The Hayes," Stoke Gabriel, Totnes, Devon, England. He was killed in action at Flers-Courcelette on 15 September 1916 and is commemorated upon the Vimy Memorial; sold together with related metal badges and insignia.
