Thomas Johnson was a native of Newcastle-under-Lyme and served in France with the 1/5th Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment. He was killed in action during their attack on the Hohenzollern Redoubt on 13 October 1915 and is commemorated upon the Loos Memorial.
