Hubert William Merryman served with the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment and was transferred to the Labour Corps prior to being demobilised.

Hugh Oatley was born in 1894 and lived at 124 Long Moor Road, Bolton before enlisting with the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment at Bolton on 24 February 1916. Posted to France with the 9th Battalion on 25 June 1916 and served with this Regiment until he was wounded in action on 21 March 1918. Upon his recovery Oatley served until he was invalided from service on 26 May 1920.

Thomas Herbert was born in 1890 and worked as a mangler at a bleachworks prior to enlisting on 11 December 1915. Mobilised on 27 April 1916 he was promoted Corporal while serving with the 3rd Battalion, North Lancashire Regiment on 19 August 1916. Further promoted Lance Sergeant on 31 August he entered the war in France on 14 December 1916 with the 1st Battalion. Reverting back to Private at his own request on 24 February 1917 he returned to the rank of Sergeant on 12 July 1918. Finally removed from the line he was posted to the Regimental Depot on 7 September 1918. Hurst remained here until 23 December 1918 when he was transferred to the 5th (Territorial Force) Battalion, King's Royal (Lancaster) Regiment. His records note deployment with this unit to the Black Sea between 14 June-29 September 1919.
