(x) Victory Medal 1914-19 (3040T. W. Williams. Act. L. Sto. R.N.R.), good very fine

William Alfred Williams was born at Southampton in April 1886 and joined the Royal Naval Reserve in May 1909. He served with a number of vessels including Kenilworth Castle and Oceanic in 1913. Williams was to see out his wartime service with the the armed merchant cruiser Edinburgh Castle before transferring ashore to Victory in 1919. Awarded his Royal Naval Reserve L.S. & G.C. in April 1924 he was promoted Stoker Petty Officer in Janaury 1926 and finally struck of the strength in May 1929.
