Victory Medal 1914-19 (M.1069 A. A. Clunn. E.R.A.3 R.N.), lightly polished, very fine

Andrew Arthur Clunn was born at Rochester, Kent on 3 December 1893. Enlisting as a Boy Artificer on 16 July 1909 he was promoted Engine Room Artificer class V on 1 January 1909, while serving at H.M.S. Indus. Posted to H.M.S. Africa on 5 February 1914 Clunn saw the outbreak of the Great War aboard that vessel, being promoted Engine Room Artificer class IV while aboard. Africa served much of the war with the Grand Fleet before being posted to the Adriatic in September 1916. After limited service with the Italian Blockade there Africa undertook patrols in the Atlantic and off South America. Clunn remained aboard her until the end of the war, continuing with service aboard a number of vessels including Sheldrake, Gannet and Ambuscade. Promoted Engine Room Artificer Class I on 8 June 1927 he was discharged on 16 October 1928.
