1830 (25 Mar.) soldier's entire letter from the Castle, Cape Town to Ireland, headed "From Saml Cummins Private Sol. 98 Rg" and countersigned by the Commanding Officer, no evidence of any Cape or U.K. charges, showing Crowned "post office/general/cape town" DLS3 datestamp and, on reverse, light "india letter/falmouth" (In1) in red and arrival datestamp (22.6); minor faults on flap otherwise sound and unusual without signs of charges
