George I (1714-1727), 'Roses and Plumes' Shilling, 1716, V over L in GEORGIVS, first laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, roses and plumes in angles, eight strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 5.99g, 6h (cf. Pywell-Phillips 268; Bull 1563 [R3]; ESC 1163 the error not noted; Spink 3645), cleaned and retoned, otherwise almost very fine, the die-sinker's error unrecorded and presumably very rare thus
