George I (1714-1727), 'Roses and Plumes' Shilling, 1715, first laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, roses and plumes in angles, eight strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 5.94g, 6h (Bull 1560; ESC 1162; Spink 3645), an excellent example of the House of Hanover's first Shilling, supremely choice with die wear to high points, muting otherwise fully lustrous surfaces, a most pleasing extremely fine and rare in this exalted state
