Charles II (1660-1685), 'Plume' Shilling, 1671, second laureate and draped bust right, plume below, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, plume in centre, five strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 5.92g, 6h (Bull 520 [R2]; ESC 1035; Pywell-Phillips 60; Spink 3376), flecking both sides, otherwise toned, very fine, rare, the first year of issue with Plumes to signify the supply of bullion from Welsh mines
