(x) PCGS AU55 | George III (1760-1820), Emergency Issues (2 January 1804), Octagonal-Countermark Dollar (8-Reales), 1786-FM, Mexico City, laureate and draped bust of Charles III right, octagon countermark of George III in centre, rev. crowned square-topped shield dividing pillars, security edge, 11h (Bull 1868; ESC 138; Spink 3766), uniform light gray fields accentuated by colourful mint flare in recesses, a handsomely honest example of this scarce Napoleonic emergency issue, a pleasingly good very fine, the countermark similarly so, rare thus, in PCGS holder, graded AU55 - C/M AU Detail (Cert. #35531431)
