(x) NGC XF40 | Ireland, Charles I, Great Rebellion, Coinages of the Lords Justices (1643-1644), 'Ormonde Money', Crown, crowned CR, rev. large Vs in inner circle, 8h (DF 290; Spink 6544), a cut to field inside crown and metal flawing between cypher, with a small split below value to reverse, otherwise old cabinet tone overlying residually lustrous surfaces, a nicely balanced example with an even uniform strike, a pleasing very fine, scarcely encountered so presentable, in early NGC holder, graded XF40 (Cert. #1653247-005)
