REX • first horseman left, ornately decorated caparison, sword over right shoulder breaking inner circle, plume on headdress and on housing, rev. (m.m.) CHRI | STO AV | SPICE REGNO square-topped and garnished shield over cross fourchée, 30.02g, 4h, m.m. cross calvary [over lis] / cross calvary (Hawkins 1a; Francis 7; FRC II*/VII, lot 48; Brooker 236 [same obv. die as 231]; Os 12/26 this coin; North 2190; Spink 2753), striking split at 10, 12 and 4 o'clock and softness to higher points on central devices, otherwise nicely cabinet toned, almost very fine for strike, rare, in PCGS holder, generously graded XF40 (Cert. #84064550)
