William III (1694-1702), Great Recoinage, Bristol, Sixpences (11), 1696 B (4), first laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, E over B [?] below truncation (3), rev. oversized A's, large crowned shields cruciform, early harp with three strings, eight billets, edge obliquely milled, 2.63g, 6h, rubbed, good; another, three strings, eight billets, 2.98g, 6h, toned, good fine; lastly, three strings, eight billets, 2.79g, 7h (Bull 1255; ESC 1535A; Spink 3521), lightly cleaned, otherwise almost very fine; also, similar, rev. small crowns, later harp with four strings, 2.62g, 7h (Bull 1258 [R2]; ESC 1547; Spink 3532), flecked, flawed and scruffy, lightly cleaned, fair / good, but rare; additionally, 1697 (7), first bust (6), rev. large crowns, later harp with four strings, five [?] billets, 3.03g, 7h (Bull 1260 [R]; ESC 1554; Spink 3528), lightly toned and residually lustrous, a pleasing very fine, scarce; also, small crowns (5), five strings, five billets, 2.70g, 6h, the fields smoothed and tooled, pitted and cleaned, fair; also, four strings, six billets, 2.80g, 6h, scratched, toned, almost fine; another, four strings, six billets, 2.96g, 6h (Bull 1261; ESC 1555), removed from a mount, stained to reverse and damaged above head, retoned, struck details fine; also, 1697 B over E (2), five strings, five billets, 2.83g, 6h, scruffy, scratched, tooled and cleaned, fair; another, four strings, six billets, 2.60g, 7h (Bull 1263; ESC 1555A), crimped and straightened, darkly toned and pitted, about good; lastly, third bust, rev. four strings, five billets, 2.82g, 6h (Bull 1266; ESC 1568; Spink 3539), lightly wiped and retoned, flecked, with traces of adjustment to die, otherwise almost very fine, rare (11)
