Aubrey Lloyd Morgan was born at Cowbridge, Glamorgan in 1894, the son of Thomas and Emily Morgan of The Bridge, Cowbridge. Enlisting at Cowbridge with the 7th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment Morgan entered the war in France on 31 May 1915. He served with them until being killed in action in the trenches to the south east of the Hohenzollern Redoubt on 21 October 1915. Oddly the Battalion War Diary records his death as occurring on 20 October. He is commemorated upon the Loos Memorial; sold together with copied research including M.I.C., Commonwealth War Graves details, and census data along with original medal slips of issue and a note of condolence from the recipients Sergeant.
