Thomas Henry Thomas was born at Pontypridd, Glamorgan, on 5 February 1898, the son of David and Sarah Thomas of 24 East Street, Pontypridd. Enlisting in Pontypridd with the Welsh Regiment Thomas entered the war in France on 2 December 1915 with 10th Battalion. Over the course of his service he was action with this unit as well as 19th Battalion and later 15th (Carmarthenshire) Battalion.
With this last unit Thomas went into action on 31 July 1917 at Pilckem Ridge where he received a gunshot wound to his right shoulder. Treated at Number 34 Casualty Clearing Station he did not survive, dying the same day. Thomas is buried at Dozinghem Military Cemetery; sold together with a Welsh Regiment Cap Badge and typed research along with copied research including medal rolls, .M.I.C. and Commonwealth War Graves details along with photographs of the recipient's grave.
