Victory Medal 1914-1919 (300162 Pte. B. North. W. Rid. R.), good very fine

Bertie North was born in 1881 and lived at 7 George Street, Wood Bottom, Shipley. Enlisting at Shipley he joined 1st/6th Battalion, Duke of Wellington's (West Riding Regiment) and was stationed with this unit during the Battle of Lombartzyde at Nieuport on 10 July 1917. Surviving this engagement North was killed on 5 August 1917 at Nieuport. He is buried at Coxyde Military Cemetery; sold together with copied research including census data, Commonwealth War Graves details, medal rolls and Battalion war diary extract.
