British War Medal 1914-1919 (S-2367 Pte. A. N. Roirdean. Rif. Brig.), edge bruising, very fine

Aubrey Nicholls Riordean was born at London in 1895, the son of William and Elizabeth Riordean of 86 Woodland Road, Barry, Glamorgan. Working as an Apprenticed Bootmaker he enlisted at Winchester on 8 September 1914. Entering the war in France on 22 July 1915 (Star) with the 10th Battalion, Rifle Brigade. He had been in France for only two months when, while standing sentry, he was shot by a sniper and died immediately on 26 September 1916. Riordean was buried at Rue-Du-Bacquerot (13th London) Graveyard, Laventie; sold together with copied research including newspaper extracts, Commonwealth War Graves details and service papers.
