1914 Star (F. 434. L. Smith, Ldg. Mech. R.N.A.S.), good very fine

Leonard Smith was born at Pimlico, London on 20 June 1892. Prior to enlisting with the Royal Naval Air Service on 15 September 1914 he had worked as a Motor Engineer. Serving at Pembroke III until 4 February 1915 he was transferred the next day to President II before taking on a role at Felixstone from 16 June 1916. Joining the Royal Air Force upon its creation in 1918 Smith was promoted Flight Cadet on 9 November 1918. Smith retired on 21 March 1919; sold together with copied service records.
