Serving with the Monmouth Royal Garrison Artillery he was mentioned in the History of Monmouth Volunteer Artillery (1958) though his name is misspelled ‘Moseley’. Later promoted Battery Sergeant Major of No.2 (Risca) Battery around 1908, the same year that the unit joined 4th Welsh brigade Royal Field Artillery. Mosley’s son Arthur served with the Royal Garrison Artillery during the First World War and he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal; sold together with copied research including census data, M.I.C. and London Gazette entries for his son along with a copy of the D.C.M. citation and handwritten notes on the recipient.
