William Alfred Cornwall who went by Alfred, was born at Warbleton, Sussex in April 1888, the son of Thomas and Harriett Cornwall of 2 Fir Tree Cottage, Punnett's Town, Heathfield Tower. Working as a Market Gardener prior to enlisting at Eastbourne. He joined the war in France with 8th (Pioneers) Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment (Medal) and was killed in action during the German Spring Offensive when his unit was in the lines opposite Albert, the Somme on 9 May 1918. Cornwall is noted as a Lance-Corporal upon his Commonwealth War Graves record and is buried at Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension, France.

George Cornwall was born at Warbleton, Sussex in July 1897, the son of Thomas and Harriett Cornwall of 2 Fir Tree Cottage, Punnett's Town, Heathfield Tower. He enlisted with 2/5th (Cinque Ports) Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment but at some stage joined war with the 9th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment. Cornwall was killed with this unit on 3 August 1917 when the Battalion was engaged in the Battle of Pilckem Ridge. He is buried at the Ypres Reservoir Cemetery. Cornwall is also noted as a Lance-Corporal upon his Commonwealth War Graves record.
