Queen's Sudan 1896-98 (1811. Pte. E. Woodward. 2/Lanc: Fus.), mounted court-style for display, very fine

William Woodward (note differing first initial) attested for the Lancashire Fusiliers at Bury in August 1886. Originally from Putney in London and a gardener by profession, during his career he saw service in the East Indies, Crete and Malta in addition to the Sudan Expedition. Further entitled to the Khedive's Sudan Medal (clasp Khartoum), Woodward was discharged in March 1899 at his own request; sold together with copied Attestation papers.
