Thomas Judson was born at Newark, Nottinghamshire in 1899, the son of Joseph and Mary Judson, of 17 Robey Street, Lincoln. He served with 20th (3rd Public Schools) Battalion, Royal Fusiliers and served in France from 14 November 1915. The 20th Battalion took part in the attack on High Wood on 20 July 1916, during the Battle of the Somme, despite bloody fighting they succeed in taking the wood, however at dusk a heavy artillery bombardment forced them back from some of their later gains. Judson was killed during the fighting on 20 July, becoming one of the 390 casualties from his Battalion, he is commemorated upon the Thiepval Memorial; sold together with copied research including M.I.C., Commonwealth War Graves details, 1901 census details along with a copied Memorial Scroll, an extract from British Battalions on the Somme and the Battalion War Diary as well as an original photograph of a grave to an unknown member of the Royal Fusiliers and a letter of entitlement for the 1914-15 Star.
