Three: Private J. E. Wilson, 10th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment) who was killed in action during the Battle of the Somme on 5 July 1916

Joseph Edward Wilson was born at Langley Hill, Derbyshire. Enlisting with 10th (Service) Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment). Entering the War in France on 14 July 1915 he went into action with his Battalion at the Battle of the Somme. The unit advanced on Fricourt on 1 July, moving to Lozenge Wood the next day and Fricourt Wood by 3 July. It was likely here that Wilson died on 5 July 1916. He is buried at Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L'Abbe; sold together with copied Commonwealth War Graves details and M.I.C.
