John William Evans was the son of William and Mary Evans of St. Thomas's Road, Derby. Serving with the 11th Battalion during the action for Hill 60 fought from 9-16 April 1917, he was injured early in the battle and died on 10 April 1917. Evans is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium; sold together with typed research.
