Ernest Henry Patchett was born at Stickford, Lincolnshire in 1882, the son of Daniel and Maria Patchett of 101 Overton Road, Sheffield. Enlisting at Horncastle, Patchett served with the 1/4th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment, later transferring to the 10th Battalion. Patchett was killed in action on 29 April 1917 during the Battle of Arras when the Battalion was engaged in an assault upon the fortified town of Reoux; sold together with copied research including an extract on the 'Grimsby Chums', M.I.C. and Commonwealth War Graves details.
