Harry Wilkins was born at Nottingham, Derbyshire, on 2 September 1897, the son of John and Mary Wilkins of 82 Peas Hill Road, Nottingham. Enlisting as a reservist on 15 May 1915 he was called up to the Royal Naval Reserve on 31 August 1916 and posted to 'A' Reserve Battalion the next month on 4 September. Drafted into 'Drake' Battalion (16 December 1916) he served with this unit until his death, being killed in action on 4 August 1917. He was originally buried a little over 4 miles from Arras but was later exhumed and reburied in the Point-Du-Jour Military Cemetery, Athies; sold together with copied medal roll and Commonwealth War Graves details.
