The St. Albans Collection of English Gold Coins | NGC AU55 | William and Mary (1688-1694), Two-Guineas, 1693, conjoined laureate busts right, rev. crowned garnished shield, edge obliquely milled, 16.73g, 7h (MCE 145; Schneider II, 463; EGC 357; Spink 3424), even wear to highest points the result of light circulation and softening of the die, otherwise lustrous with flares of residual brilliance in recesses further accentuated by an overlying aurora of honey-red-brown tone, an attractive and pleasing very fine, a very seldom encountered coin in public commerce, with NGC 'St Albans' Certification, graded AU55 (#6295553-020)
