The Remarkable "Ellerby Area" Hoard of English Gold Coins (1610-1727) | NGC AU53 | George I (1714-1727), Guinea, 1723, fifth laureate head right, nose to stop between HIB and REX, rev. crowned shields cruciform, eight strings to harp, six hearts to Hanoverian shield, edge obliquely milled, 8.36g [129.0grns], 6h (PAS: YORYM-18E848 = BM 2019 T668/252 this coin; MCE 258; Farey 675; EGC 520; Spink 3633), faint contact marks in otherwise bright but lustrous fields, a pleasing very fine, the reverse better still, with NGC 'Ellerby' Certification, graded AU53 (#6380983-252)
