The Remarkable "Ellerby Area" Hoard of English Gold Coins (1610-1727) | NGC AU53 | George I (1714-1727), 'Lightweight' Guinea, 1723, fifth laureate head right, nose to stop between HIB and REX, rev. crowned shields cruciform, seven strings to harp, six hearts to Hanoverian shield, edge obliquely milled, 7.70g [118.8grns], 6h (PAS: YORYM-18E848 = BM 2019 T668/254 this coin; MCE 258; Farey 675; EGC 520; Spink 3633), bright but lustrous, an attractive very fine, the reverse even better and mysteriously underweight despite there being no evidence of any rim filing, an important and excessively rare survivor, with NGC 'Ellerby' Certification, graded AU53 (#6380983-254)
