1842 Riddell correspondence entire letter, datelined "Ferozepore 17 January 1842", from Major Riddell to his wife in Indore, marked "Post Paid/5as" and on reverse faint red Ferozepore datestamp with "5as" inserted by hand; fine. Interesting contents include "...today's report is that Cabool fell to the enemy on the 5th. If so all Europeans have probably been murdered." Photo
