1841 (18 Aug.) entire letter from Sherborne to Yeovil fraudulently franked by used 1d. black, Plate 4 with clear margins all round, previously cancelled by crisp red Maltese Cross and subsequently crossed through in red pen and ink with "Old Stamp" alongside, "Prepaid" deleted and charged "2" postage due. A fine example of attempted postal fraud.
