Mail Forwarded Through The British Postal Agency in New York
1848 (1 Apr.) envelope from Bethlehem "via Baltimore per Brig Glamorgan or other first vessel to Jamaica", taken to Halifax, Nova Scotia to find a Packet to Mandeville Post Office, Jamaica, showing "10" (cents) and "paid" in red pre-paid to Jamaica and, on reverse, "ud states/halifax" c.d.s. (7.4), charged "2/8" on arrival. It is believed that it was put on the Cunard sailing packet "Velocity" on the 23rd arriving in Hamilton, Bermuda on 2nd May. Then the RSMP steamer "Trent" carried it to Havana, arriving on the 28th before the "Dee" took it to Kingston arriving on 1st. June. The file note records that the addressee received it on the 3rd.
