19th Century Overseas Ship Letters
1803 (19 May) and (12 Nov.) entire letters ex the same correspondence to Inverness, both rated "1/10" (deleted), "2/2" (deleted) and "2/5", and both with very poor Jamaica two-line datestamp on reverse; 1804 (20 Feb.) entire to London, marked "Via Belfast, per Edward, Capt Craig W.G.P.", rated "6/6" and showing framed "belfast/ship letter" in red; 1804 (30 Apr.) entire letter to Edinburgh, rated "10" (deleted), "1/4" (deleted) and "1/5" and showing straight-line "falmouth" h.s.; 1807 (25 June) written by an officer in the Royal Marines on board H.M.S. Canada north of the Virgin Islands and sent ahead of the convoy, addressed to London, rated "1/5" and showing poor double-lined oval "Ship Letter/Crown/greenock" in red; and 1808 (27 July) entire letter from Rock River to Dundee, rated "2/8" (deleted) and "4/10" and showing double-lined oval "ship-letter/Crown/liverpool" in red
