1845 (8 Mar.) entire letter from New Orleans to Bermuda, nominated to be carried by the Alabama to Havana but carried privately to the care of Morrison, De Cononcke & Co and marked "To be forwarded by the R Mail Steamer" which had ceased to call at New Orleans after only four months in 1842. It was put into the British Post Office in Havana and was eventually carried by the Clyde to Bermuda, rated "1/-" at Havana. Most unusual. Photo
