IF-II strip of four and JF-JI strip of four (forming a severed block of eight) on 1840 (16 July) entire from Manchester to Glasgow, redirected (18.7) to Edinburgh (21.7) with the eight pence fee paid with NE-NL strip of eight, very large margins all round and with full margin at right showing part of inscription "..Back be careful not..", originally concealing the stamps at top and separated for display purpose, all adhesives cancelled by Red Maltese Cross, the reverse of the entire showing the various postmarks.

An incredibly rare item believed to be the largest recorded franking (16) of Penny Black with Maltese Cross cancellation.
