A174, 1840 (4 June) addressed to Peckham cancelled by red Maltese Cross, redirected to Strand, London, charged 1d, paid in cash and bearing a bold strike of handstamped "1" in black, with handstamped "OS" (Old Stamp), the reverse with despatch c.d.s.; a few faults including staining and repaired tears, nevertheless an important cover being the only one recorded showing the "OS" handstamp.
