Postal History
1856 (21 Nov.), a single sheet of note paper, headed Hampstead, signed by Rowland Hill and and addressed to a Mr. J.S. Baker; in the note Hill remarks "...I think the alteration I have made in the enclosed, by placing the objectionable part of the request second, instead of first, is an improvement". A charming insight into the diplomacy of the great Postal Reformer. Photo
