The Armstrong Collection | NGC PF63 | Victoria (1837-1901), Proof 'Gothic' Crown, MDCCCXLVII [1847] UNDECIMO, by W Wyon, crowned 'Gothic' bust left, WW on truncation, rev. crowned shields cruciform, raised lettered edge downwards, 6h (L&S 57; ESC 288; Bull 2571; Spink 3883), a beautifully honest and original example of this famous English numis-artistry, rich iridescence overlying handsome brilliance and further accentuating cameo-like central devices, a hint of rub to hair fillet, otherwise a thoroughly wholesome and pleasing good extremely fine, seldom found in such technical quality as this, in NGC 'Armstrong' holder, graded PF63 (Cert. #5880392-003)
