(g) Victoria (1837-1901), 'Shieldback' Sovereign, 1864 over 1 [?], die number 82, second large head left, WW to truncation, rev. crowned shield within wreath, die number 82, milled edge, 7.95g, 6h (Marsh 49 var.; Spink 3853), lightly wiped but residually lustrous, very fine, the reverse better still, the last digit in date impeded by a radiating die flaw but clearly struck with a broad 1 upstroke punch, an unlisted variety
