Great Rebellion of the Three Kingdoms, Irish Confederate Wars (1641-1653), Lord Justices "Money of Necessity", Province of Munster, Vice-President Murchadh na dTóiteán ("Murrough the Burner"), 1st Earl of Inchiquin's Obsidional Shilling, First Issue, 1642, AKA 'Dublin Money', 3dwt: 21gr within treble beaded border both sides, 5.44g, 4h (DF 279; Spink 6534), the counterstamp partially weak on right flank, and with possible traces of an earlier plate hallmark on reverse, otherwise toned strictly very fine, very rare and the first example to be offered in these rooms in a decade
