FRAN •' ET • HIBER •' REX •, crowned and cuirassed bust right, rev. (m.m.) • EXVRGAT • DEVS • DISSIPENTVR • INIMICI •, crowned square-topped shield, dividing I-R, 5.52g [85.2grns], 7h, m.m. thistle (Lingford 877 same dies; Ryan 357 = Schneider II, 3 same dies; North 2067; Spink 2610), the obverse of brighter appearance with partial striking softness to shoulder and to corresponding area of reverse, natheless the central devices handsomely struck up especially to reverse; this further accentuated by circumjacent matte fields, near extremely fine, of the highest rarity, the sole example to appear at global public auction for over 70 years!
